Perfect First Date - answer ONE
The following are the answers to question number 1 of the "First Date IQ Quiz"
1. What to do on the perfect first date:
a) Candlelight dinner for two
0 points
Sorry, but not the best first date choice. A difficult setting for feeling comfortable and getting better acquainted.
b) Lunch or cup of coffee
5 points
Great idea. Without getting overly flashy or romantic, you're providing the opportunity to get to know each other. There will be lots of time to talk, get to know each other's likes and dislikes, etc.
Both people can feel comfortable in a low pressure situation that promotes conversation.
c) Secluded lookout above the city
0 points
Sorry, but definitely not a first, second or third date choice. You're likely to appear to be coming on too strong, or your date might not be comfortable being alone in a secluded place with someone they don't know well yet.
d) Rock concert
1 point
Sorry, but again, definitely not the best first date choice. Too expensive, too little opportunity to communicate.
e) Movie
3 points
Good choice, but not the best - a movie is a good neutral date location, but doesn't provide much of an opportunity for conversation. If you're going to do the movie route, then be sure to grab that cup of coffee afterwards.

First Date Tips |
Obviously THE first date is all about getting yourself and your date into a
comfortable environment - and getting to know each other.
It's about talking - conversation - sharing information...
Remember to slow down - and talk with confidence. If you talk too excitedly, you can come across as
nervous rather than enthusiastic.
If you relax, you'll help your date relax...
Stick to conversations that are:
positive with topics that are as exciting to talk about as possible.
You can uncover and discuss interests that you have in common (music interests, friends, movies, foods).
Let your date talk:
When you ask your date a question - be sure to follow up if they answer with a
'yes' or 'no.' For example:
You could be discussing food likes and dislikes. "Do you like
Mexican food?"
They answer "yes." Then you ask, "Why?" or "What's your favorite restaurant?"
or "Have you been to Mexico?" - then "Did you like it?" and "Why?" or "Why not?"
You'll begin to see that you naturally begin to ask questions
like this when you're truly interested in finding out about someone else.
TWO great advantages to keeping your date talking:
1. As your date talks - you'll hear them mention other topics that you can follow up on with additional questions and keep
the conversation flowing.
2. MORE IMPORTANTLY - as your date talks - they'll let you know more about them, and you'll find out if this
is someone that you'd like to go on a second date with.
