I really like him, but he just moved out of state. How do I let him know how I feel?

This is crazy but I met this guy and I have a feeling we connected the thing is he left the state and moved to another state, sadly we met on the day he was leaving and we sat there for 5 hours and talked and really clicked , he even hugged me goodbye as if he has known me forever and had a sad look on his face ,he gave me his e-mail address and other contact details, Usually I don’t play games if I like someone I come out and say I like you but this is way too soon, He even asked me to fly there and see him in Jan. I really really like this guy and have not connected with someone like him in so long. My question is how do I show him I am interested when our only means of communication is e-mail and texting without scaring him away?
