I'm in love with my guy friend. Do I tell him?

I am in love my guy friend. I spend almost all my time with him, he the first person I talk to in the morning and last person I talk to at night. Recently I have been leaving hints to show him I love him, and he was been leaving a few that he likes me more than a friend. I was so happy for things to go how I wanted them to, until last night. A friend asked if we were a couple. While I was desperate to say yes, he just laughed and replied we weren't. He has also been spending a lot of time with my friend who asked the question. As much as I hate to admit it, I'm so jealous. I know I shouldn't be jealous, after all if he's happy and thats what counts? As selfish as this sounds, I want him to be happy with me. It hurts so much. I want to walk right up to him and tell him I love him, but I couldn't bear to lose him as a friend if he said no. What should I do?
